• University degree or equivalent.
• Five years’ experience, including three in broadcasting or a related field, directly relevant to the assignment.
• Strong team leadership skills with the ability to inspire others.
• Demonstrated talent as a programmer with an ear for pacing, tone, presentation and production.
• Superior writing, editorial and production skills; interest in cross-platform media production.
• Solid journalistic background.
• Ability to choose relevant, audience-focused stories that reflect issues being discussed by the public.
• Ability to quickly react and respond to breaking stories.
• Knowledge of events and issues of interest in the Outaouais and eastern Ontario.
• Demonstrated skills in the area of conflict resolution, mentoring, talent recognition and development.
• Ability to innovate and take risks.
• A commitment to reflecting community and diversity.

Your Role:

• Assist in developing program content including writing, researching, gathering and/or editing; ensure adherence to the style and format of the program.
• Work with a team to reach new audiences on more than one platform.
• Direct and/or support a program, either live or pre-packaged, in studio or at a remote location.
• Edit and mix programs or program segments.  Ensure that content meets programming and strategic goals, achieving optimum results.
• Gather, edit, digitize and package content to promote CBC programs and activities for the website and social media platforms.
• Organize the participation of interviewees, creative contributors and other participants, develop background, introduction and line of questioning, conduct or arrange for any necessary research and ensure the briefing of hosts.
• Assist in maintaining a level of communication or rapport with members of the audience which is both feasible and appropriate to the style and nature of the program.
