The Canadian Freelance Guild's Job Bank was one of the first member services launched following our founding in early 2020 with the merger of the Professional Writers Association of Canada and the Canadian Media Guild's Freelance Branch.

And despite its technical limitations, the Job Bank has been one of our most popular services since the day it launched.

It wasn’t perfect, but it worked, and Robyn Roste, who’d come from one founding partner, and Rachel Sanders, who came from the other, were soon filling the inboxes of members who signed up for email notifications of new work opportunities. Hundreds of posts later, Rachel stepped away in early 2022 thanks to finally transitioning to a CBC Radio staff job after years of contract work. Robyn, meantime, carried on and is already posting to Job Bank 2.0, the custom-built version that gives members far more control over the notifications they receive.

PS:
The new system also allows us to offer paid access to the CFG Job Bank only, without the cost or benefits of full CFG membership, for a discounted annual fee of $100.

Use this form to apply for your non-member access to our Job Bank.

Make sure to mention your membership in like-minded organizations, which may entitle you to a further discount.
